In Conversation with Thomas Lösch – The New Managing Director of Planatol GmbH Introduces Himself

Mr. Lösch, you have recently taken on the role of Managing Director at Planatol GmbH. How do you look back on your first weeks?
TL: The first weeks have been extremely positive. I was warmly welcomed and got to know a team that not only has profound technical expertise but is also strongly committed to the company. Planatol combines technological competence with a strong customer focus – an excellent foundation for achieving successful growth together.
Where do you currently see the greatest opportunities for Planatol – and which topics are your top priorities?
TL: Planatol has positioned itself very successfully as a specialist for high-quality adhesives and application systems within a niche market. Strengthening this positioning is a central priority. At the same time, we want to invest specifically in innovation, customer orientation, and operational efficiency. The goal is to further enhance both our technical excellence and our market presence.
A particular focus for me is to shape the organization and processes clearly and with a forward-looking perspective. In this context, it is also important to establish stability and reliability within the management team – especially after several changes in key leadership positions – in order to build trust both internally and externally.
What medium- to long-term development do you envision for the company?
TL: In the coming years, Planatol should continue to establish itself as a leading provider of specialized adhesive solutions – with an international orientation, a clear commitment to quality, and an integrated systems approach combining adhesives and application technology. We want to expand our position in all existing markets, both nationally and internationally. At the same time, we aim to achieve a more balanced mix of end markets and geographies, reducing our reliance on the (German) graphic arts industry, while laying the foundation for sustainable, profitable growth.
It is important to me to foster a corporate culture that supports innovation and willingness to embrace change, while also promoting reliability.
